Next.js in New York
Next.js development for New York companies
A Next.js development company working with New York teams. About an hour of overlap, which makes the engagement asynchronous by construction rather than by preference.
- Working day overlap
- About one hour. New York is roughly eight hours behind Ankara, so our end of day is your start of day
- What that changes
- Decisions are written down and reviewed, not discussed in a call. The engagement is asynchronous by construction
- Who buys here
- Media, DTC commerce and venture-backed product teams
- Local specifics
- ADA exposure is litigation rather than regulation, and privacy law differs by state rather than by country
New York is about eight hours behind Ankara. Our working day ends roughly as yours begins, which leaves an overlap of about an hour.
That is the single most important fact on this page, and it is not a problem to be talked around. It decides what kind of engagement works.
Asynchronous by construction
With one hour of shared time, a project cannot run on conversations. Every decision that matters has to exist in writing, with the reasoning attached, because the person who needs it will read it eight hours after it was written and cannot ask a follow-up until tomorrow.
In practice that means a few specific habits:
A pull request description says what changed and why, not just what changed. A reviewer in another time zone cannot ask what you meant without costing a day, so the answer goes in before the question does.
Open questions are posted with a recommendation and a deadline, not as open questions. "I propose X because Y; if nobody objects by your end of day I will proceed" moves a project forward overnight. "What do you think?" costs forty-eight hours.
Decisions land in a document rather than a thread. An architecture note that says why each route renders the way it does is useful in any engagement; here it is the mechanism by which two teams stay aligned at all.
Teams that already work this way barely notice the time zone. Teams that run on standups and hallway decisions find it genuinely hard, and it is better to establish which you are before signing rather than in month two.
The one reliable slot
A standing call around nine in the morning Eastern is late afternoon for us and works indefinitely. One reliable slot is worth more than three that people drop out of.
What it should be used for is the things that are expensive in writing: disagreements, scope changes, anything where tone matters. What it should not be used for is status, which belongs in a document that is already up to date.
What gets built here
Media properties with real editorial volume, direct-to-consumer commerce, and product surfaces for venture-backed companies between their first and second serious engineering hires.
The last category has a recognisable shape. The application was built quickly and correctly for the stage it was at, the company grew, and now every page is dynamic, the bundle is large, and the team is arguing about a rewrite. That is almost never the right answer; the right answer is usually a rendering strategy decided deliberately for the twenty routes that matter.
Accessibility is a legal exposure here, not a standard
This is the local specific worth stating plainly. In the United States accessibility arrives as litigation rather than as a regulator with a deadline. Nobody writes to you first.
The engineering is the same work any accessibility standard would require - focus that moves on client-side navigation, loading states that announce themselves, form errors tied to their inputs. What differs is the failure mode, and that it attaches to the site exactly as shipped.
Privacy is the other one: the rules differ by state rather than by country, which makes "are we compliant" a question with several answers. The state-level detail belongs on the United States market page.
